John Mash Jr

A Local to Dixie County, Florida, John Mash Jr. is the second child of 5, and started playing music and singing as a young boy in church. John got his passion for music through his father, John Mash Sr., who taught Jr. to play guitar. His father used to tell him, “I’m gonna teach you the same way I was taught, I’ll show you three chords and the rest you’re on your own.” Those three chords is all it took to get him hooked. John spent many of his days as a child improving on his skills as a guitar player and learning to sing his Grandmothers favorite hymns, one of which stands out the most. “Will the Circle be Unbroken.” A tune that forever holds a special place in John’s heart. John wrote his first song entitled “Good Times” in the Summer of 2015, as a tribute to his graduating class of Suwannee High School in Live Oak, Florida, home of the Suwannee River Music Park. Since then John has written many other songs, and has performed at local open mic nights, as well as for local restaurants, clubs, and bars across North Central Florida. But it wasn’t until February of 2023 that John decided to record and release his first EP entitled “Being Me”. A compilation of songs written about heartbreak, losing a loved one, or in the case of John’s song Any Day Could Be Your Last, Co-written by Austin Hunter, what it’s like to be a First Responder; As John is a full-time Paramedic/Firefighter for his home town department. Check out his full band entitled “No Harm Done” and enjoy!
